About the Webinar
As people who contribute to the creation of products, services and experiences, we are all user-centred by default, or are we?

In this webinar and Q&A session, Chris Burns discussed his recent experience of working with Team GB’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coaches and support staff. He talked about the challenges of people’s biases, the often underappreciated value of different perspectives and how he worked with sceptical stakeholders to adopt user-centred design principles which were slowly ingrained into everything they did.

About the Speaker
Chris has had a range of job titles over the past twelve years, all following the same theme – contributing to the development of digital products and services, which fulfil the needs of users and solve real problems.

Chris has spent the last three years of his career as Product Manager at the English Institute of Sport, where he led a small team to build a range of solutions to support Team GB’s athletes, coaches and practitioners. In 2019 the team were awarded the Queens Award for Innovation for their medical products which enabled better monitoring of athlete performance, health and wellbeing.

Outside of the day job, Chris co-organises the Deliver Sessions meetup and mentors UX and Product Management students at Manchester Metropolitan University. For the last few months, following the Coronavirus outbreak, Chris has been helping local charities transform their in-person services to interactive online sessions, workshops and webinars.
